My pick for a favorite project this January month is a recent order for a movie poster look a like save the date magnet. The idea of a save the date that looks like a movie poster isn't uncommon. Not all movie posters are made equal though- there is plenty of room for quite a variety within this idea.
In this case, they wanted their save the dates to look a bit like those for the 2005 movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which was about a married couple that were each a spy for a different group.
The most important part of this movie poster design was, of course, the photo. That part was up to the couple. Key elements for the photo: the right clothes, poses, and a light background.
Their idea ended up just fitting onto a 4.15x5.35 inch magnet. Larger and custom magnet sizes are available, but this size happens to fit easily into A2 envelopes (a common size) for mailing.
Result: fun save the dates.

how did you guys do this!? i love it
A big part of making a design like this is the original photograph. Couples have to get dressed and have a good photograph taken somewhere with a background that is as white as possible. I can then lighten the background, move two people closer or further apart as needed for the design, and add in the wording.
