Thanks to the ticket save the dates that are so popular, STDO ends up with a lot of sports related projects! Here is a set of baseball themed place cards that I recently worked on:
In this case, the couple sent in a list with each table #, player table name, and then the guest's name. They are folded, and about 4x2.5 inches.
You could get a similar set of 50 for around $65 plus $7 shipping to anywhere in the USA. Place cards with blank spaces for you to hand write names will cost less.
Here be posted photographs of magnets, cards, stickers and other news pertaining to Save the Date Originals.

Wedding Program for Baseball themed weddings
As usual, a lot of the people who ordered sports themed save the dates or invitations have me working on yet more awesome sports themed things for their weddings. Today, I have a baseball themed wedding program to show you.
It is not complicated - it is a folded card printed inside and out. What makes it cool is the red baseball stitches along the outside (wraps around front and back).
Even for simple programs, I like to go with 70lb card stock instead of a thinner paper.
Pricing as of 2016:
25 for $60.00 plus $8.00 shipping
50 for $100.00 plus $10.00 shipping
75 for $140.00 plus $12.00 shipping

Baseball Cards for a Wedding
One recent project for a customer's baseball themed wedding was: personal baseball cards to include with their favors. I just loved the idea!
We went with 65lb laminated cards, printed front and back. Size is appropriately 2.5x3.5 inches.
One front front is a photograph of the couple, and the back lists their couple "stats".
As 2016, you could get 50 of these for $45.00 or 100 for $80. Pricing will change over time though; If you are interested, contact angela@savethedateoriginals.com

Football themed pocketfold invitation
There were actually already a couple of sports themed wedding invitations on the Save the Date Originals website, but, both were baseball related. It was time for some football love, and thanks to a recent customer, a new wedding invitation is now on the website.
For those customers going for the touchdown, I present a 5.25x7.25 inch dark green pocketfold invitation with a football and two helmets in the design.

The 4x5.25 inch response card is also set up to mimic a football field just for extra fun:
This pocketfold set comes with white response and outer envelopes. Like all the invitations, of course it could be modified with different wording, colors, envelopes, etc.
Check out more info here:

Football Field Seating Chart
Thanks to the sports ticket save the date section, I have ended up working on a variety of other sports themed stationery and projects for weddings.
This post is to show off a seating chart designed for a football themed wedding:
This seating chart is designed for printing at about 24x18 inches. Of course, the image I posted here is a lot smaller than that. Tables with guest names fill the green field and the couple has their own skybox. (They went with a "Sweetheart table" for this wedding.)
Seating charts are one of the few things were I sell where I will usually send a large high resolution file for the customer to print locally. Why? Because seating charts are big! It's easier to get them printed locally at a copyshop like Kinkos instead of having me ship the printed seating chart.
.
Yes, you can email me to ask about your own version of this championship wedding seating chart at angela@savethedateoriginals.com
A printable file seating chart like this (PDF or JPG) would be around $45 (as of 2013)
Of course you would want your own names, date, and location. Colors can be changed. Instead of stadium names for the tables, you could go with team names, player names, or numbers.
The number of tables can be changed too, though looking at this, it should be apparent that 24 is the max number that will fit on this size! If you have fewer tables, you could go with a smaller seating chart. You could also get an entirely different seating chart made- this is just an example of a football theme.

Ticket Week: 6
Ticket save the date magnets are very popular here at Save the Date Originals. This week, blog posts are featuring new ticket ideas & variations that people have had me (the designer) working on this year.
Featured ticket design number 6 was a fun new theme. Customers have asked for concert tickets, football tickets, movie tickets, basketball tickets, broadway tickets, baseball tickets, and there is even a golf scorecard design. A Kentucky Derby themed save the date design was a new request. (Horse racing).
Quite appropriately, the wedding itself will be in Kentucky.
This save the date design is the popular 2.5x6.5 inch magnet size. It includes the photograph, a racing horse, and a horse shoe with a rose.

Ticket Week: 5
Ticket save the date magnets are very popular here at Save the Date Originals. This week, blog posts are featuring new ticket ideas & variations that people have had me (the designer) working on this year.
Number five is a new 2.25x6 inch photo save the date ticket design. This is also yet another new magnet size. Pricing would match up with the 2.25x5.5 inch and 2.5x5.7 inch magnet sizes, posted here.
This magnet design is fairly simple. A photograph, the "seat row section" wording to add the ticket-like feeling, and a cute wordplay for baseball in that the couple is going to "step up to the plate". There is plenty of room for the featured photograph.

The fourth ticket design is also a save the date, but for a surprise birthday party, not a wedding. This ticket is a variation on the TicketMT1 magnet design. This version is still 2x5.5 inches, so to make room for more wording, we scrapped the photograph.
The guests are notified, shushed, and awaiting more details in the forthcoming invitations.

The third ticket design is a new version of the 2.5x6.5 inch TicketMT11 magnet design. This design was originally a baseball ticket design... now it becomes a hockey ticket design.
One of the fun things about tickets is the various cute wording plays that people come up with for different sports; In this case we have a couple that is "going for a goal".

Ticket Week: 2
Ticket save the date magnets are very popular here at Save the Date Originals. This week, blog posts will feature new ticket ideas & variations that people have had me (the designer) working on this year.
The second ticket design features this week is a variation on an existing save the date ticket design. The original ticket (TicketMT2) is fairly neutral with regards to exactly what team it would represent. And though the design features a football graphic, that football could just as easily be switched to a baseball, hockey stickers, bat, or some other sports related item.
The new version of the design is similar, still for a 2x5.5 inch magnet, but is meant to clearly show some Houston Texans spirit.
This ticket was another example of trying to find a way to incorporate the team imagery without using any logos. In this case, horns, a star, the helmets, and the colors, do the trick.

Ticket Week: 1
Ticket save the date magnets are very popular here at Save the Date Originals. This week, blog posts will feature new ticket ideas & variations that people have had me (the designer) working on this year.
The first new save the date ticket design is based on a football ticket. This couple went to Auburn University, and wanted to show off some team spirit along with their photo and save the date info.
This ticket is mostly brown and white, but there is a bit of the orange and blue Auburn University colors. This is a good example of a ticket design that closely mimics an actual ticket, but, without the use of any trademarked logos.
This ticket design ended up at about 2.6x5.7 inches. Pricing for this magnet size would be the same as that which is posted on this page:http://www.savethedateoriginals.com/magnetpricing5.php

Thank You x2
Every week there is something new to work on. I rarely blog about thank you cards, but they are another area where people can really set their stationery and event apart. As with other stationery, you have choices. One of those choices is a flimsy pack of TY cards from the store... or... something custom and awesome!
Check out this TY card designed to match a baby shower invitation that I already offered, made just for a customer who wondered if there couldn't be a matching TY card for the invitations. Both cards have a design that is meant to remind one of the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom children's books.

Another recent thank you card project is sports themed. The darker red pattern between the top and bottom is meant to remind you of the stitching on a baseball. Sports themed save the dates and invitations are one of the newer ideas I have seen more people having fun with in recent years. If both the bride and groom have little interest in the frilly, the flowery, or the pretty, and happen to have sports teams that root for, this theme is something that they can have fun with.

Both cards are made of white card stock, and are folded 5.5x4.25 inch cards.

Sports Themed Weddings
Sports themed save the dates are something I have blogged about several times. There is more to say about stationery for that theme, though, beyond save the dates! You didn't think people stopped with their save the dates, did you?
These new sporty ideas are all due to customers coming to me and asking about a new idea.
Now, what about after the wedding? Well, I have no photographs of a sports themed thank you card for you yet, but, you know they will come along to this blog sooner or later.
Now, as you might guess, the next thing on a couple's mind after they order their save the dates is... invitations!
I offer a larger ticket design for invitations:
But also to be added soon is this new 5.5x8.5 inch invitation design:
It is a nice clean layout with two jerseys. The red back-flap printed envelopes add the excitement factor. The envelope says "The game is on and you are invited!"
Next, we have a pocketfold invitation:

Again, a fairly simple design, all things considered, with a solid baseball sports theme.
Beyond the invitations, you start to get into stationery for the wedding itself. There is a post about sports themed table #'s somewhere on this blog. This photo, however, is of ticket escort cards:

*Escort cards are a little different than place cards. Place cards are placed *at* the tables, and people wander until they find their place cards. Escort cards are on a table near the entrance. A guest picks up their escort card, and this card tells the guest which table number to go to.*
In this case, the envelopes are written with the guest's name. They pull out their ticket, which tells them where to go.
These new sporty ideas are all due to customers coming to me and asking about a new idea.
Now, what about after the wedding? Well, I have no photographs of a sports themed thank you card for you yet, but, you know they will come along to this blog sooner or later.

Event Tickets- Birthday Addition
I've posted many times now about event & sport ticket save the dates. How about a change... a birthday event ticket invitation! Customizable with any colors or any age, with a personal photograph. (And, well, you could have one made for any event).
Check out this 2.5x6.5 inch event ticket:
Notice something new? It's the envelope. A special long flapped envelope that allows for an extra touch. The envelope itself is also printed with "EVENT TICKET". This wording is also customizable.
The ticket itself could be a card or a magnet.

Spring cleaning: Baseball Table Numbers
STDO is getting ready to move locations in a couple of months; This meant that spring cleaning this year had to be very thorough. Consequently, I have run across all manner of save the dates, invitations, and other projects from over the years.
Check out this baseball themed table number:

Being sports illiterate, I do not actually know the who the baseball player in the photograph is. Each of the 20+ numbers featured a different famous player.
This table number is a tall folded tent card about 4.5x9 inches tall. The number is printed front and back. To ensure that the card stands up well, a join was added to the bottom. The join also folds, so that these are as much of a pain to store before the event.

Magnet holders
Revisiting magnet holders with this post.
This is one of the sections on the website that is being worked on right now. Pricing is now available for more card stock colors- such as cream, yellow, and red. Even better, pricing is now a little lower.
These magnet holders are 5.5x4.25 inch cards. There are two slits, positioned to hold small magnets. Small magnets are 3.5x2 inches- the typical size of a business card.
Visit the magnet holder page to learn more
*Pricing for folded magnet holders is not available yet, as of December 30th, only flat blank and flat printed.*
These holders were developed primarily because the smallest envelope size that you can mail out is over twice as big as the small magnet size. This is why that product is priced out with envelopes- it's expected that you are getting them so that you can mail out your magnet.
Other magnet sizes, such as the 5.5x4.25 and 4x3.5 inch magnet sizes, are the perfect size to mail out on there own, closely matching a common mailable envelope size.
The 4.1x2.6 and 2x5.5 inch magnets do not closely match an envelope size, but customers usually mail them on out in envelopes that are just a bit larger. On the other hand, sometimes a customer just does not want their 2x5.5 inch magnet bouncing around in a 3.5x6 inch envelope. Slitted cards are actually available for these magnet sizes- but they definitely cost more.
Check out this example of a printed 3.7x8.5 inch slitted card for the 2x5.5 inch magnet size:

If you are interested in a magnet holder for another magnet size, let me know what card stock you would like to go with, what magnet size you need it for, and, whether you want any printing on the card.

Save the Date Sports Ticket Design
...post the third. People have so much fun with the sports ticket look-a-like save the dates, that it warrants yet another post.
Click here to read an earlier more detailed post on this subject.
This post is just to show off a slightly altered version of this design idea. This time, instead of a 2x5.5 inch design, we have a 4.1x2.6 inch design. This design features a clash of teams!

This new size is also available as either a magnet or a card, and costs the same as a 2x5.5 inch magnet or card. The best envelope size for these is 3.5x5 inches.

Save the Date tickets

Tickets look-a-likes are a popular idea for wedding save the dates. One ticket design in particular that people enjoy- sports like designs.
In an earlier post about a sports ticket save the date, I featured a 2.5x6.25 inch ticket that someone had me design. This particular ticket was made out of a skinnier flyer type paper. Since then, it's been more popular to get the ticket design printed on a thicker card or even a magnet, both of which are more cost effective at the smaller 2x5.5 inch size. With wedding save the dates, people often want to stick to simple short lines of text, so this smaller size works. People who want a similar design for something else- like a rehearsal dinner invitation- need to go with a bit of a larger card (2.75x8.5 is a good size),
As with all designs on the website, customers can ask for customization; Photograph, no photograph, wording, colors, etc. One thing that usually needs to stay the same, though, is the font style. There are only a small number of fonts that will work in the small available space.
Here are a couple of design examples on the website:
Whether going with a 2x5.5 inch magnet or card, if customers want to mail the save the date ticket out alone, I recommend the 3.5x6 inch envelope size. I do offer white envelopes of that size.

Tickets

In respect of copyright, instead of using the actual red sox logo, I can draw up something similar for a logo. Most couples will end up going with a baseball or football graphic for similar ticket designs.
The example on the left is about 2.5x6.25 inches, printed on a 100lb coated stock rather than the 80lb cover glossy card stock used for many of the cards on my website.

Addendum: I thought I would add in a quote from the email this customer sent me...
"...Just wanted to let you know we received the STD's in the mail the other day and they are FANTASTIC!! You did such a great job and were so easy to work with. My sister (the only one who knows we are doing them) loved them as well. It's going to be hard not to show them off until April 08! If you ever need any recommendation, feel free to use my e-mail..."
